IF you’ve forgotten it’s not summer, you’re not alone. The Hastings has been blessed with beautiful summer-like weather for most of May, with daytime temperatures since 10 May until Monday averaging 22.9 degrees, which is a record since they started recording temperatures at the airport 20 years ago.
Beaches on the weekend had crowds of people.
“It’s been more like Easter than a weekend in May,” one delighted beach-goer told the Independent.
The bad news is that the large high that has been hovering over NSW and the Tasman Sea is finally moving off, which will enable some cold fronts from down south to start making their way through, with temperatures expected to drop this weekend and also some possible showers.
However, the outlook for winter is for above-average nights and conditions pretty close to normal.
Looks like we might be able to leave those winter-weight doonas in the linen cupboard just a little longer.
