HASTINGS residents will have the opportunity to learn more about a planned $20,000 upgrade to the playground in Wallace Reserve, Dunbogan, at a community information session early next month.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is writing to residents in the vicinity of the reserve, inviting them to attend the session between 9am and 10am on Saturday 1 February.
The reserve is located off Scarborough Way and Lady Penrhyn Court and is popular with local residents as well as visitors.
Council group manager recreation and buildings Liam Bulley said anyone who used the reserve on a regular basis – or who had an interest in the reserve – was welcome to attend.
Mr Bulley said council planned to spend $20,000 upgrading the playground before the end of the financial year, planting shade trees and installing an interactive play area and natural play elements.
He said the 1 February information session would provide council staff with an opportunity to talk with residents about the proposed upgrade and to seek their input.
Mr Bulley said the planned upgrade was about maintaining the Wallace Reserve as a great place to visit, meet and play.
Those people who would like to share their ideas for the site but who are unable to attend the information session are asked to contact council’s parks and recreation project officer, Mike Olzomer, on (02) 6581 8111.
