THE Port Macquarie branch of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia held a competition day on Sunday.
Event 1: .22 rimfire, silhouettes, 75m, off elbows, speed shooting. A Grade: 1st D. Adlington, 2nd K. Aldridge, 3rd R. Piper. B Grade: 1st B. Hollis, 2nd J. Blundell, 3rd Luke Stass.
Event 2: 10 shots, .22 rimfire, crow target, 75m, benchrest. A Grade: 1st K. Aldridge, 2nd R. Piper, 3rd R. Moy. B Grade: 1st Luke Stass, 2nd B. Hollis, 3rd Leyna Stass.
Event 3: 5 shots, centrefire, 100m, rabbit target, sitting with post: 1st R. Marchment, 2nd R. Piper, 3rd B. Hollis and Luke Stass.
Event 4: 5 shots centrefire, 100m pig target, off elbows: 1st D. Adlington and B. Hollis, 3rd R. Marchment.
Event 5: 10 clay targets, side of traphouse, gun down, pointscore: 1st R. Marchment, 2nd J. Goody, 3rd B. Pharo.
Event 6: 10 clay targets, front of traphouse, gun down, pointscore: 1st J. Goody, 2nd R. Marchment, 3rd R. Piper.
The next competition day will be on 24 November and will consist of two .22 events, two centrefire events, one military event, one open sights (any calibre) and two shotgun events.
The range is at the Hastings Shooting Complex at the end of Lady Nelson Drive at the rear of the racecourse. Any query regarding licences, range passes and club membership will be cheerfully answered. Don’t forget the items mentioned must be able to be produced by shooters.
Practice is available each Friday morning and on the morning of the third Sunday of the month. Each attendance, whether practice or competition, counts towards licence requirements.
