Stars come out for open-air screening

IT will be a case of ‘take two’ when Hastings Moonlight Movies makes a return to Kendall next month.
After a planned screening of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel early last month had to be cancelled because of bad weather, the council has now announced a rescheduled screening on Saturday 16 November.
It will be held at the Kendall Sportsground at 8pm to allow for daylight saving.
Kendall Men’s Shed will be firing up the barbecue as a fundraiser and movie-goers are encouraged to head down to the sportsground early to give themselves plenty of time to enjoy the sausage sizzle before the movie gets underway.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a critically acclaimed comedy starring some big names including Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson and Maggie Smith. It has a running time of about 118 minutes. The film centres on British retirees who travel to what they believe is a plush resort in India, only to find out it is less than expected, with hilarious results.
Entry is free but those people attending will need to provide their own chair, picnic rug and refreshments. On-site facilities will include carparking and toilets.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council had initially planned to screen The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at Kendall Sportsground on Thursday 3 October. Unfortunately the event had to be cancelled because of high winds.
Screenings of Parental Guidance and Life of Pi went ahead as planned at Wauchope and Port Macquarie and attracted huge crowds.
