The “dangerous idea” that private schools should all be abolished and become public schools has been discussed at a festival in Australia. The idea was put forward by the Finland Director of Education. Several countries, including Finland, have no private schools.
This is a “dangerous idea” in that it takes away the parent’s choice of education for their children. However, many parents find it difficult to pay private school fees. In fact, some private schools have a large amount of unpaid fees.
One positive fact that comes to mind is that, if there were no Roman Catholic schools, small children would be much safer. Parents would not have the constant fear that their precious child could be sexually abused by paedophile priests or teachers.
Also, innocent children would be freed from the religious brainwashing dogma imposed on them by all private church schools. This could help abolish that dreadful Catholic word – Transubstantiation!
