Dr Paul Connett, author and retired Professor of environmental chemistry, visited Port Macquarie in 2007. He is returning soon to deliver a talk on the many health risks associated with toxic fluoride ingestion from our diet and from drinking artificially fluoridated water.
When Dr Connett started researching fluoride in 1996, he accepted the prevailing American perception that most people opposed to water fluoridation were scientifically naïve. However, after 14 years of reviewing the primary literature, he came to the conclusion that excessive fluoride consumption can cause and/or exacerbate many illnesses.
During his earlier visit to Australia in 2007, Dr Connett gave a talk to Victorian health professionals prior to the Victorian Government’s proposed fluoridation of the Warrnambool, Geelong and Ballaratt water supplies. At the end of his November 9 presentation, more than 20 doctors jointly signed a letter of opposition to water fluoridation that was sent to Dr John Carnie, Victoria’s Chief Health Officer. Predictably, this prompted an angry response from Victorian Health.
There is clearly a need for widespread education on the facts relating to water fluoridation, as opposed to the steady stream of propaganda and lies that our governments have been disseminating for decades.
Professor Paul Connett will be speaking at 7.30 pm Friday, February 18, at Panthers (Settlement City). There is no entry charge but a gold coin donation will be appreciated.
