Re-evaluate fluoride

On February 18, Professor Paul Connett (PhD) spoke at Panthers on the dangers of fluoride in our water supply and left no doubt in the minds of the large audience in attendance.
The Hastings community is soon approaching  a critical time of decision making, no doubt the most critical to date.
Will the Hastings community take the time to study up-to-date facts and evidence and unite to wage war against big business brainwashing (and mass medication) and stop or eventually end this unnecessary and, in my opinion, illegal process?
Instead of ratepayers funding mass medication of an entire community and putting people’s health at risk, perhaps the same amount could be spent to provide free fluoride toothpaste, etc, etc for those who want it.
I’m also very disappointed at the noticeable lack of media interest at Dr Connett’s presentation when it was an extremely rare and important event and it was entirely open to the public.
And where were all those bad people supporting water fluoridation? Anyone and everyone including our prestigious doctors and dentists had an opportunity to voice their opinion.
The supposed benefits of ingesting fluoride through drinking water has been drummed into medical and dental practitioners for over 60 years.
It is time these professionals re-evaluate and find the courage to stand up for our rights.
Given that fluoride has benefits when applied directly to the surface of teeth, and that in our water supply some 99 per cent is not consumed, but goes to sinks, drains, and otherwise the environment, why is there even an argument.
