Many people in the Hastings are somewhat perplexed by the approach to spending by the Port Macquarie Hastings Council. To understand the financial planning of the Council is a strenuous exercise.
Their latest proposal is to spend five hundred thousand dollars on a sports stadium, after previously proposing to spend ten million dollars on airport development and seventy-eight thousand dollars on a machine to tell them the condition of the roads.
There appears to be a great imbalance between the cry of poverty and their plan to spend vast sums of money.
I suggest that it’s time the Council management began to be more open with their administrative policies and procedures and perhaps even consider paying off the huge debt on the Glasshouse instead of overspending our hard earned rate money.
