I know there is an election due because the “spin” and “buzz words” come out. Those such as “Transparency”, “Lateral Thinking”, “Community Consultation”, “Strategic Thinking”, “Paradigm Shift”, “Open for Business, but not for Sale”, “Open Government”, “Green Jobs — Rich Future”, “Driving Sustainability Measures”, “Improve Relationship between Council and Business”, “Fix up the Roads”, “Job Creation”, “Hit the Ground Running” and “Keep the Ball Rolling”.
It’s easy to sit on the fence and make comment, but from my experience voters should be aware that most candidates will tell the voters what they think they want to hear. I invite any candidate to define what is meant by their “spin” and “buzz” words, and whether outcomes arising out of them are achievable and attainable during the tenure of the forthcoming council.
