Climate change response

All the things predicted have NOT happened, why?
I read the reports and nowhere does it say it will happen in our lifetime but it has been discovered in the last few years and we have a chance to slow it down, NOT stop it or make it reverse, just slow
it down.
WHY? Because, over six billion people now living on this planet are taking everything that the earth naturally produces and excretes it out as rubbish.
People living now want to keep what they have or want more – it is our nature.
Why would any government risk tackling big business and taxing the hell out of it and the people they work for if they were not convinced that it is true.
It is not the present we should be concerned with but the future or don’t most people care? My favourite quote is from one of the largest polluters in the world – Rupert Murdoch in 2007 said “Climate change poses clear, catastrophic threats. We may not agree on the extent, but we certainly can’t afford the risk of inaction.”

The Bureau of Meteorology has been observing and reporting on weather in Australia for over 100 years, and CSIRO has been conducting atmospheric and marine research for over 60 years.
They released reports in 2010 with very little publicity as that doesn’t sell newspapers or sell ads on TV or make political parties’ game playing easier, see http://www.csiro.au/files/files/pvfo.pdf
In 2007 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released their fourth assessment report, concluding that:
•Warming of the climate system is unequivocal
•Humans are very likely to be causing most of the warming that has been experienced since 1950
•It is very likely that changes in the global climate system will continue well into the future, and that they will be larger than those seen in the recent past.
These changes have the potential to have a major impact on human and natural systems throughout the world including Australia, see http://www.climatechangeinaustralia.gov.au/
