This is in reference to the gardens grown on the roundabouts in Port Macquarie.
Although these gardens are very lush and are well maintained, they are not suitable for busy roundabouts, which Port Macquarie has many of.
They (the gardens) are too high, too thick, are of very dense plants, completely blocking any chance of seeing traffic coming on the roundabout. Some are so high even larger vehicles are unable to be seen because of the growth. This makes for a dangerous combination considering the amount of traffic using these roundabouts.
Consideration should be given to a different type of growth on the roundabouts, a low ground cover and small trees that will allow drivers to see through the growth and therefore be able to see the oncoming traffic and their indication, something which at the moment is impossible to see.
We implore the relevant authorities to consider taking action about this problem as it is a serious and dangerous one, and contributes to many accidents on the roundabouts.
