Climate oversight

Power bills are much higher this year than during the same period last year. Food prices are rising, along with everything else, except ‘alleged’ global warming. According to the British Met Office, as reported in the Daily Mail, global warming stopped 16 years ago. In a ‘quietly released report’ figures reveal that, from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there has been no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures. This means that the ‘pause’ in global warming has lasted for roughly the same period when global temperatures rose, 1980 — 1996.
This latest report, compiled from more than 3000 measuring points on land and sea, appeared quietly on the Internet, without any media fanfare and, until this release, has not been reported. This is in sharp contrast to figures released six months ago, which went only to the end of 2010 — a very warm year. Ending the information then made it possible to show a slight warming trend since 1997, but 2011 and the first eight months of 2012 were much cooler, and thus this trend is erased.
I would like to hear from Julia Gillard and her top climate advisor, Tim Flannery, about this important oversight. The Carbon Tax was brought in on the basis of figures that said global warming is on the increase. Therefore, the need for it is null and void. Meanwhile the insidious and totally unnecessary Carbon Tax continues to hit battlers all over Australia. We will remember, come the next Federal election.
