I have wanted to write this for a while but have had mixed feelings as to the outcome but now the council elections are over I am going to give my view of a couple of radio presenters, being Ray Hadley and Alan Jones at 2GB. I have contacted Ray a couple of times via email and I am happy to put my name to this letter as I do not believe in putting pen to paper and then going anonymous.
I had been a 2GB listener for years but now only listen to Ben Fordham. When some of Alan and Ray’s listeners ring and say “you say it like it is, we all agree with you” please don’t count me in that as I don’t agree with them, especially their continued assassination of people’s characters, two being Peter Besseling and Rob Oakeshott. I contacted Ray Hadley recently and asked when he was going to give up his continued criticism of Peter Besseling in the coming elections. He kept saying “a vote for Besseling is a vote for Oakeshott”, I told him you are like a dog with a bone; he emailed me back with one word NEVER.
I have no problem with constructive criticism of MPs, councillors, in fact anyone but I detest berating anyone, especially when they are good living people who contribute to their community.
Well whatever the outcome of the council elections on Saturday, September 8, I hope we have a council who communicates with each other and the community. Transparency is what is important in politics and we need to give a new council or a new government at least twelve months to settle in.
