I challenge the eminent Dr Mark Brisley of the NSW Dental Association to tell the residents of Hastings Shire why, if, as his association states that sodium fluoride (fluorosilicilic acid) is an industrial waste product that “becomes harmless in water, turning into harmless hydrogen ions and fluoride ions’, the phosphate and fertiliser industry do not dispose of it conveniently in the sea, adjacent rivers or land fill?
As it is officially listed as an S7 toxin it is beyond comprehension that, instead, they are allowed to sell it to local authorities in its raw form where it is miraculously metamorphosised into a beneficial medicine that prevents disease in one small part of the human body and does not affect any other part.
What are the statistics to prove that ingesting fluoride will improve dental and general health? If it were true, it would also have been demonstrated by the obvious better general health of people, a reduction in dental practices in Sydney and other fluoridated communities worldwide.
Fluoridated water mostly bypasses the teeth before permeating nearly every other organ and accumulating over time in the skeletal structure.
I was blessed by my forbears with a gift often more valuable than academic qualification; that being, common sense, which tells me to err on the side of caution when something has the potential to be detrimental to my safety or well being.
So let us hear more from the good doctor, we all want to be sure that he is right. If he is, he should look forward to a less lucrative future.
