In reference to Natalie Green (Dog gone it’s an issue)
I am the woman that Natalie refers to and the two dogs are mine. I must say that I don’t usually waste my valuable time on stories that are not quite true BUT because you talk about someone who has no voice, I feel compelled to defend our very precious family member.
The afternoon you talk about I remember very well because I was frightened that Barni may not come home in one piece.
Although our dogs may not “DROP” on command, they are taught to be very sociable with humans and their four legged friends.
You say that Barni latched onto your dog’s neck and did not let go until I physically grabbed him and pulled him off…. Yes I did have to grab Barni but not to pull him from latching onto your dog’s neck BUT to actually pull him out of your dog’s mouth…..
I agree that your 17-yr-old daughter would have been scared BUT can I say she had no reason to be scared of Barni as he is our loyal, friendly, loving 10-yr-old Pug who is on a seniors diet because he has very little teeth left…. I wish you would have approached me when you saw us a little time later with Barni in the bike basket, because I would have explained that he goes in the basket of my 12-yr-old daughter’s bike as he has arthritis and cannot walk for long nowadays.
I will definitely have our dogs on leashes at all time from now on Natalie, BUT not because you or the rangers frighten me……. But rather your dog……..
