I am happy for there to be more than one free paper. I enjoy The Independent but everyone has their own choice. The new The Port Paper Thursday, March 17 I was disappointed in. I believe everyone has the right to vote for who they wish but reading the article Your Shout re the ex General Manager Andrew Roach and his expense account which was $39,000, can someone please tell me why only our current MPs Rob Oakeshott and outgoing State Member Peter Besseling were on the expense account. First off if he had $39,000 on the card there must have been a lot of other lunches with other people other than our two MPs. With Freedom of Information we can splash Andrew Roach’s credit card accounts all over the media, I bet if you had a look you would find many public servants overspending. I am not defending Andrew Roach as I do not personally know him, only he was the GM. Who I do know as our MPs are Peter Besseling and Rob Oakeshott, but it appears to me there is a witch hunt to dig up as much dirt as you can on Peter Besseling who I think has represented Port Macquarie very well and will make himself available if time permits. This is a Democracy and that is great but let us do it fairly. Pam Kenyon
