Last week I attended an international business meeting held in Sydney comprising a select group of Asia Pacific general managers representing international corporations. An array of subjects was discussed, with the thrust being opportunities, confidence and future direction of businesses in the APac region. All bar one of the participants held the view that New South Wales was not a State to conduct business with confidence. The general comment was that “in a few weeks there may be improved confidence — we’ll need to see what happens”.
It is clearly vital that, if outsiders view our State in this light, there is something drastically wrong with the stewardship of the State. The only remedy is to have a strong unified National and Liberal Coalition team to demonstrate good governance, raise standards and thereby give us hope that the reputation of NSW will return to a level of which we can all have pride.
It is imperative to have our region represented in this new team to put NSW back on the map for investment and growth.
