Dave Wedlock and Charmaine Howe travel from Townsville for each round of the ‘Australian Formula Powerboat GP’.
This last weekend at Sydney’s International Regatta Centre was a round trip of some 5000km.
From Port Macquarie, Dave’s Pit Crew are Andrew Wedlock and Trevor Parker from Lake Cathie.
Dave raced ski boats prior to taking up powerboat racing 6 years ago, starting off with a Formula 3 and now drives a Formula 2 powerboat which has a top speed of over 170km/h
Dave drives a 2007 Grand Prix Boat purchased in the USA.
Dave’s achievements include:
- 2006 Formula 3 Rookie of the Year
- 2007 Formula 3 Champion
- 2008 Formula 2 Rookie of the Year
- 2008 Formula 2 Runner up
Dave races against local Port Macquarie identity Michael Page who is current Formula 2 Champion.
