Breaks tear down Tigers

PORT City Breakers gave their finals chances a boost with a thumping win over the lowly Wingham Tigers on Saturday.
The Breaks ran in nine tries to smash the Tigers 52-16 at Regional Stadium.
NSW Country representative Mitchell Fowler scored a hat-trick in the win, a perfect tune-up before his match against Western Australia in Perth this Saturday.
Fowler has been named on the bench in the curtain-raiser to the South Sydney Rabbitohs v New Zealand Warriors clash.
The forward was the Breakers’ best on Saturday and had plenty of support.
Others to score tries for Port City were Matthew Woods, Jarryd Hensley, James Ahoy, Luke Sinclair, Ricky Arnell and Luke Ackroyd.
Ackroyd shared the kicking duties with Josh Hyde and both nailed four conversions.
Meanwhile, Wauchope consolidated top spot on the ladder with a tough win against Forster Tuncurry.
The Blues won a low-scoring game 14-0.
Tries were scored by Chris Philipson and Jordan Galloway, while Sam Watts made two conversions and kicked a penalty goal.
