HUNDREDS of people were left in awe on Saturday night after the Port Macquarie Roller Derby League’s inaugural bout.
Aptly named the Debutant Brawl, skaters from Sydney, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Port Macquarie went head to head across three bouts.
Port Macquarie’s Indoor Sports Stadium was packed for the occasion and many left as new fans of one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
“It was amazing,” Shelley Anderson said.
“It was fast and physical and I think everyone who went for the first time – including me – left in awe.
“The skaters not only have skill, but they are tough and know how to put on a show.”
