Manning takes honours

In representative cricket Manning defeated Hastings by 2 wickets in the Interdistrict First XI Grand Final played in Taree last Sunday.

Hastings won the toss and elected to bat first but were dismissed for 140 in the 37th over.

In response Manning were struggling at 8 for 106 at one stage but 36 not out from Josh Ferris got the home team over the line with just over 5 overs to spare.

The Hastings Under 19 and Over 35 Rep Teams will also clash with Manning in their respective deciders this Sunday (Feb 10).

The Under 19s will play at Oxley Oval from 10am while the Hastings Mounties will take their final to Andrews Park in Wauchope. The Annual Beechwood 7s Cricket Tournament is coming up on Sunday February 17 starting at 9am featuring 8 teams in a knock out competition.

Those teams include Comboyne, Port Pirates, Port City Leagues Magpies, Camden Haven, Wauchope, Bonny Hills, Beechwood and the Invitational XI.

The Port Magpies defeated Bonny Hills in last year’s final.

While it appears the 20/20 Finals that were washed out on Australia Day will now be held at the Wayne Richards Sporting Complex on Sunday February 24.
