Keeping score made easier

ARMIDALE Cricket is running a cricket scorers’ course for supporters, volunteers and parents on Saturday 31 August.
The course will be run by volunteers and is totally not-for-profit.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for country people to take advantage of Cricket Australia’s expert trainers without having to travel to Sydney to do so.
The course will cost just $20 per person and participants will receive manuals as well as a “quick reference guide” to use when scoring at games.
The course will be run by an accredited trainer (and current Test Match scorer) from Cricket Australia’s Scorers’ Association who will travel up from Sydney for the day.
The course would suit people new to scoring, or those who would like to get involved but find scoring a little intimidating. But it would also suit people who may have done lots of scoring in the past and wish to “refine” their skills.
The trainer will provide advice on balancing scoresheets and finding mistakes, as well as tips and hints on making scoring just that little bit easier. And the course is just in time for the beginning of a new season of cricket.
Registrations are open now. Contact Helen Dennis on 0428 150 768 or the Armidale Cricket website www.armidalecricket.com.au – there’s a registration form on the website.
