Wickets will fall

The Port City Leagues Cricket Club Registration and Training Days will be held at Stuarts Park between 10am and midday on Sunday, September 11, 18 and 25.Training will then be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Macquarie Park from September 13 and 15 respectively through until the end of the season from 4pm onwards. All current, former and new players are welcome to attend no matter what age or ability.First Grade Captain Andrew Glover is excited about the prospect of retaining the majority of the First Grade squad following a successful season last year that saw Port City qualify for the finals of the HRDCA Competition and Beechwood 7s as well as finishing Runners-up in the May Kelly 20/20 Cup. Joshua Kew, Mitchell Dick, Jason Herdegen, Kyle Bray and Jamie Hall will provide a solid base to build the team around and blood some new talent.The Club has elected a new president for the 2011/12 season, with Paul Byrne taking over from the recently retired Tony Glavurdic.Rohan Kew and Nik James were re-elected to the respective Treasurer and Secretary positions, while Andrew Glover, Kurt Crane, Gareth Cairns and Greg Hall form the rest of the General Committee.
