The Triathlon season kicks off for the Port Macquarie Triathlon Club on Sunday, October 14, with race one — “Come n Tri it” sponsored by Gordon Street Cycles.
For the club’s regulars it’s time to register your membership, dust off your gear and challenge your grade rivals for the 2012/13 season.
Whilst race one is a championship points race, those who are new to the club or just keen to “Come n Tri” the sport can come down to McInherney Park and register.
Registration opens from 6.15 to 6.45am and the race commences at 6.50am for juniors ‘10 years and over’ and 7am for seniors.
For newcomers, their first race is free of charge and guaranteed to get them hooked on this addictive sport.
Race distances are either the half distance, which is: 300m swim, 9km ride and 2.5km run; or full distance: 600m swim, 18km ride and 5km run. Junior distances are 100m swim/3km ride/1.5km run.
The Port Macquarie Triathlon Club has always prided itself on being family friendly and accommodating to all newcomers, irrespective of ability, so grab your family and friends, have some fun and meet others who are looking to enjoy life through a friendly and healthy sport.
