Touch fever descends on Port

The 2012 X-Blades National Touch League (NTL) competition was held in Port Macquarie last week from March 8 to 11 at the Port Macquarie Regional Stadium and Tuffins Lane Precinct.
X-Blades National Touch League is Touch Football Australia’s flagship event and may have been one of the biggest NTL events held in New South Wales. The event saw around 120 teams and over 2000 visitors converge on the Hastings from all over Australia in w. Open and senior divisions were run concurrently over the four day period.
The competition marks the start of a big year for touch in Port Macquarie, and will be followed by the 2012 X-Blades National Youth Championships and State of Origin series in September. The New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA) State Cup is to be held in Port Macquarie in December. NSWTA recently announced that Port Macquarie would host the 2013-15 New South Wales Junior State Cup events, held annually in February.
