Local triathlete Harry Jones has competed and conquered Australia’s biggest Olympic distance race.
The Triathlon was held in Noosa in Queensland last weekend and Harry won his age group ( 20/24 years )Â in a time of 2:01.43.
This was a personal best for Harry improving on his time from last year by 10 minutes.
The conditions were harsh on the bike leg with a tropical rain storm that saw some of the elite athletes coming off their bikes.
Over 4000 individual athletes competed in this race with another 2000 in the team events.
Not only did Harry win his age group but secured a 51 place over all.
Harry believes that the change in his diet and the support from his sponsors, including Smarter Financial and Insurance Solutions and Keystone health physiotherapy have helped him with this result.
Harry will compete in Canberra this week at another national triathlon.
