Port Macquarie High School had perfect weather conditions for the school’s annual cross country held on Thursday, May 10.
More than 70 students competed for the coveted titles of ‘Age Champions.’
The scenic running course circled the water storage lake off Koala Street and even curious kangaroos stopped to check out the athletes.
The standout competitor was 13 years age champion, Molly Beaver, who not only won her age division but was the first female to cross the line.
Also impressing were Shayden Schrader in the 14 years boys who won his age group for the third year in a row and Zoe Archer, the 16 years girls champion, who also collected her third consecutive title.
Four other students were second time winners. Giving back-to-back winning performances from 2011 were Toni Hurkett (14 yrs), Anastasia McIntosh (15 yrs), Bryce Thompson (16 yrs) and Matt Baker (18 yrs).
