THE Port United women’s soccer team is one win away from a grand final berth after an impressive 4-0 win against Cambden Haven.
Lexie Wilson was the hero, scoring a hat-trick in front of the Redbacks’ home crowd.
Wilson had support from the midfield trio of Skye Lacey, Jessica Morris and Danielle Mifsud.
Almost identical strikes by Wilson in the 10th and 30th minutes were set up by perfect passes from Naomi Abbott, giving United a 2-0 lead at half-time.
After the break, defender Misti Brandt put her stamp on the match, initiating the attack for Port’s third goal.
Her break down the right ended with a pass to Cara Holmes, who found Wilson with a low cross, allowing the striker to complete her hat-trick.
United made it 4-0 late in the match with a goal from close range by Leah Wilson after a scramble in the goal mouth.
United has a weekend off before they will take on the winner of Macleay Valley Rangers and Kempsey Saints for a place in the decider.
