Race 2 sponsored by Northcorp Accountants and Financial Services was again well supported with 70 seniors racing across all grades as well as 5 juniors.
Placings across all grades were hotly contested and many of the club’s newcomers are exerting their dominance early in the season.
The club was delighted to have Adam Holborow back on the course and he and Cameron Pensini had a great tussle for first place overall with Adam pipping Cameron by a mere 10 seconds.
Cameron lines up next week end for his first 70.3 half Ironman Distance event and if yesterdays form is any indication he will do well.
Madi Roberts who is also lining up for her debut 70.3 event was first girl home in 1:00:47.
Brodie Wynter took out B Grade with a 1:01:23 and with times like that may not be in B grade for long.
Brodie defeated Steve Bellamy by 4 seconds, another closely contested grade.
C grade saw Josh Rummery home first with 1:03:03 and Leanne Mallyon first female in C grade.
D Grade saw Craig Whiting race strongly with a 1:15:20 having returned to the club after a prolonged break and newcomer Sara Davies, was hot on his heals with a 1:16:32.
The half distance (300/9/2.5) was again popular with Jack Pilgrim first male home with 35:09 and not far behind Shaun Smith, who is improving with every race.
Fiona Bagley also raced convincingly this week with a 38:42.
Port Mac Tri Clubs next race is the graded handicap event held on 11.11.12 and sponsored by Athlete’s Foot.
The Club will be well represented at next week ends 70.3 half Ironman event.
