Muay Thai fighters debut

Four Kumiai-Ryu Martial Arts System Muay Thai fighters recently debuted at a Muay Thai and Boxing Fight Night in Tamworth, conducted by Bull Rider Promotions.
Tom Hembling, Thomas Burns, Paul Norris and Nathan Fowler who have only been involved in Muay Thai Kickboxing for the past six months, have certainly made an impression on other fighters, trainers and promoters alike, with their clean clinical professional approach to the sport.
Nathan Fowler was scheduled to fight his first ever Muay Thai Fight when his opponent pulled out at the last minute and, having travelled all the way to Tamworth, he took a boxing bout against a more experienced opponent. Nathan performed exceptionally well and won on a unanimous points decision.
Thomas Burns, fighting in the Super Heavyweight division, was unfortunately thumbed in his eye and could not continue, resulting in a no contest.
Tom Hembling fighting in the Heavyweight division against one of the local Tamworth lads, went the distance and lost on a very close split decision.
The last Port Macquarie fighter on the night, Paul Norris, was up against the local favourite Kane Stevenson in what many stalwarts suggested was the fight of the night. A three-round battle ensued, with Paul being awarded a unanimous points decision at the conclusion.
Head Trainer for Port Macquarie Kumiai-Ryu Kyoshi, Kevin Blundell, stated, “I was very pleased with all the boys’ efforts on the night and would like to say a big thank you to the many people from Port Macquarie who made the trip to Tamworth to support them.
“All four have bright futures in Muay Thai if they wish to pursue their careers. We are all training hard in preparation for our upcoming Training Tour to Thailand in July,” Blundell said.
