WYNDHAM Vale will soon be home to a brand-new football club.
Western Region Football League clubs Wyndham Vale Juniors and Wyndham Vale Falcons announced last week they would be joining forces to create the Wyndham Vale Football club.
Wyndham Vale Junior Football Club president Steve Tessari said one of the main reasons for the merger was to secure more talent within the clubs and ensure more juniors stuck with Wynbdham Vale at senior level.
“In the past the kids would get as far as the under 18s and then they would just disappear,’ Mr Tessari said.
“There was so much talent that was just disappearing.”
The club has released its new logo which is a modernised version of the Wyndham Vale Falcons Football Club’s old one.
The club will represent over 400 players in the Wyndham area and its new jumper will be released in time for 2012 season.
Mr Tessari said he hoped having a junior and senior team unite would create a better family oriented environment.
“It’s going to be more of a natural thing as time goes by,” he said.
“This has been something that both clubs have wanted for quite some time.”
