THE Maribyrnong City Council has saved a Tottenham heritage site from becoming a home for shipping containers.
A developer proposed to demolish part of the original Wiltshire Files factory, now a vacant block on the south side of Sunshine Rd.
A council report stated that the site has been vandalised and was in a state of disrepair.
The developer, Hoffman and Co, planned to build an office, administration centre, workshop, and car parking and wanted to remove trees protected by the heritage overlay.
