THE Footscray Asian Business Association was partially successful in its protest against the introduction of ticket machines in the Little Saigon shopping district.
The Maribyrnong City Council last Tuesday decided to withdraw two of the five machines that were introduced in August.
The council said there was justification to remove two machines from the Byron St car park as it was an off-street area and council’s rollout of ticket machines during this period was focused on on-street parking.
Parking in the area will also be subject to further changes such as the introduction of a limited number of 15-minute parking spaces and the Byron St car park being reduced from two-hour to 90-minute parking.
