Man hit

A MAN was still clinging to life yesterday after being hit by train at Ginifer Station, St Albans, on Sunday morning while he slept on the tracks.
The unidentified man was rushed to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition shortly after 12.20am Sunday after he was hit by an outbound train on the Sydenham line. Police believe the man was asleep and drunk at the time. The victim is said to be in his 40s, 176-178cm tall, with light brown hair and medium build.
He was wearing jeans and a T-shirt, and witnesses have told police he was seen earlier on a bench at the station.
A spokesperson for the Royal Melbourne Hospital said the man was in a serious condition and still in intensive care on Monday morning. Anyone with any information about the man’s identity can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
