PETER Maynard is well known in Wyndham Vale for lobbying for sports and community services for the area.
During his 23 years as a Wyndham Vale resident, the financial planner has been involved with the Iramoo community centre, and on transport and safety advisory groups. He has also been a member of Wyndham Proud cleanup programs and the volunteers coordinators network.
His concerns include more GPs in Wyndham, easier rail crossing access and providing more youth programs.
The Labor Party member ran unsuccessfully in the 2003 election.
He said many residents he had doorknocked expected more transparency and accountability in council decisionmaking.
