GREEN thumbs across Brimbank will be able to take part in a tree planting day in Ardeer this weekend as part of World Environment Day.
Under the joint project by the Friends of Kororoit Creek, Conservation Volunteers Australia and other local residents, it’s hoped that more than 800 native trees, shrubs and grasses will be planted.
“Community planting activities are a great way to learn about local plants and wildlife and also meet other local residents who are interested in preserving Kororoit Creek,” Brimbank mayor Natalie Suleyman said.
Cr Suleyman said planting along the Kororoit Creek corridor would promote the development numbers of the endangered striped legless lizard.
The planting day will be held this Sunday, 4 June, in Tower St, Ardeer from 10am to 1pm. For more information call 9249 4959.
