RIGHT now they are playing in the juniors team but the young stars at Werribee City Soccer Club could be on their way to the big stage.
The club’s under-16 side has established itself as one of the top sides in the state after being crowned the Football Federation of Victoria Champion Team for the Western Suburbs in 2013.
Werribee City was on top of the ladder throughout the season with the club dominating the competition week in week out to the delight of coach Jafar Mahmoud and team manager Charles D’Antino.
They were also runners-up in the State League final played last week.
In scary news for the opposition, Werribee City will only get better during the off-season.
A squad of 22 players from the club will soon be heading off to the home of the Lazio Club in Rome for a number of friendly games and to further improve their skills.
