Transformation for women

SOME 100 women will take part in a 10-week program set to transform their lives.
Uniting Women Pty Ltd launched the first official 10 Weeks to Transform program in Wyndham last week.
Director of Uniting Women Andrea Kerr said the program would connect, empower and improve the lives of women.
The program will see women engage in a range of activities and seminars aimed to help improve their overall lifestyle.
Events include time management sessions and life coaching.
Ms Kerr said it was important all the programs were well-suited to women and their needs.
“It’s about what women would like to see and which parts of their life they would like to improve,” she said.
Ms Kerr said the program was more than just another weight loss program.
“It’s not about the weight loss; it’s about an overall transformation. At the end of the 10 weeks I want women to walk out knowing they’ve got their finances on track and knowing how to defend themselves,” she said.
“It’s about making them feel confident when they walk out the door.”
Women taking part in the program will receive an entry into the draw to win major prizes, including a new car.
Ms Kerr said the more the women got involved with the program, the more entries they will have into the draw.
“It’s all on an entry basis, so each time you exercise you get an entry, if you attend events you get an entry, if you hand in an accountability report you get an entry.”
Ms Kerr emphasised that the program was not specifically about having one winner.
“I want everyone to feel they are achieving something,” she said.
“It gives women a chance to look at every part of their life so they can improve in all areas and aspects of their lives, meet new friends and do things they thought they were never capable of doing.”
Uniting Women will also donate five per cent of all profits back to the Wyndham community and five per cent to a charity.
“I just had this feeling deep down that I wanted to help. And this is my way of helping the community that I actually live in,” Ms Kerr said.
“I think if we can improve the women in our community and make them feel more comfortable and confident about themselves, we will help make the community better.”
Registrations are open for up to 100 women to join.
There will be an information booth at Werribee Plaza in front of Coles Supermarket on Saturday 6 April.
