TWO lucky people who won first division in TattsLotto after buying both of their tickets from the same Hoppers Crossing store have failed to claim their prizes.
The unknown punters bought separate tickets and each took home more than $500,000.
One of them pocketed $573,000, $50,000 more than the other person, because they had bought a more expensive ticket, but both of them picked all six of the right numbers.
Carlo Addamo, the owner of Target Lotto in the Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre where the tickets were sold on Saturday 22 March, said he was amazed to see that he had two winners from one lottery draw.
“We came in to open the store on Sunday at 8am and it told us straight away on the computer that we had sold two first division tickets,” Mr Addamo said.
“I was absolutely amazed. We usually have one first division winner a year and we hadn’t had one for two years before this so we were thinking ‘what’s going on’.
“Now we’ve made up for it.”
Mr Addamo, who owns the store with his wife Christine, said he had previously sold two winning tickets in successive draws, but never two from the same draw.
It is believed it has only happened once before in Victoria.
Mr Adammo said these most recent winners took his tally of first division tickets sold to 27, and his biggest winner had taken home $9 million on their own.
He said his store was still void of any lucky charms though.
“I think we’re one of the luckiest shops in Australia,” he said.
“We don’t have any statues or anything like that. We’ve been lucky so now we’re too scared to get one. It might break our luck.”
A TattsLotto spokesperson said the winning tickets were registered to players but the company had been unable to contact them and as of last week they had still not come forward to collect their winnings.
