TWO students from Gilmore College for Girls took out top awards in the sporting and educational arenas.
Year 10 student Samantha Smolski represented her school in the Western Region swimming finals and became the Western Zone Champion and state finalist who will swim in the Victorian Secondary Schools Sports Association competition on 27 April.
As a representative of the western region she will compete in the open 200metre freestyle, open 400m freestyle, U17 100m backstroke, U17 100m freestyle and U17 100m butterfly.
Meanwhile, Year 11 student Wendy Le won a UBS Leadership scholarship to attend the UBS Young Women’s Leadership Academy at Sydney University from 24 to 28 April.
She was one of 135 applicants and will be among 20 young people to attend the UBS Investment Bank sponsored conference.
The scholarship covers her flight and accommodation at the conference.
