WERRIBEE not-for-profit organisation Mambourin is hoping to score a hole in one in its upcoming charity golf day in March, encouraging the support of local businesses along the way.
The 2014 Mambourin Charity Golf Day will be held at Sanctuary Lakes golf course and the planning is currently in full swing.
Mambourin is a not-for-profit organisation which provides services and supported employment for people with disabilities in the western suburbs.
Mambourin CEO Rohan Braddy said he hoped companies and businesses would jump on board to sponsor, donate or enter teams to play on the day.
“The golf day provides additional income for us to do things that otherwise would be impossible for us to do,” Mr Braddy said.
“It is very important to us to add additional value to the works that we do to support people with disabilities.”
This will be the eighth event of its kind, and so far the fundraiser has been successful in raising more than $100,000 over the last seven years.
Proceeds have been used to improve and purchase needed infrastructure and equipment at both the Werribee South and Sunshine sites.
Mr Braddy said the day was also a great opportunity to break down barriers by creating networks and friendships.
The golf competition will be in an Ambrose team format with both handicap and non-handicap competitions.
“I’m not a great golfer but I do enjoy getting out on the course,” Mr Braddy said looking forward to the event.
“I honestly just enjoy sharing with people the great work that Mambourin do.”
