THE wife of a Tarneit farmer missing for nearly seven years has been charged with his murder.
Margaret Uttley, 52, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last week charged with the murder of Stephen Henry Uttley.
Mrs Uttley was remanded in custody to reappear for a committal hearing on 19 December. Mr Uttley, a father of four who was 45 at the time of his disappearance, lived with his family on a 93-hectare farm at Tarneit until he went missing on 8 October 2000.
He was last seen leaving a friend’s barbecue in Werribee.
