A MAN who was shot at a Werribee house following a domestic dispute with his partner has had his leg amputated following the incident.
The 61-year-old Rockbank man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with a gunshot wound in his leg on Saturday 25 May.
Werribee Police Inspector, Damien Christensen, told Star officers discovered the man’s injury after they attended a car crash he had been involved in.
He had lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a power pole on Werribee St in Werribee.
The injury was caused by a shotgun and it is unknown who was the owner of the weapon.
Two Werribee men aged 20 and 25 were taken into police custody following the incident and were charged with intentionally causing serious injury and assault-related offences.
It is believed the men were the son’s of the injured man’s partner.
When Star went to print the Rockbank man was still refusing to cooperate with police and assist them with their investigation.
