Nigel Sutton’s show The Full Load, gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘don’t air your dirty laundry in public’.
The show, which is based around a man who runs a laundromat, is showing in Altona as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival this month.
Nigel said his character, Krispin, likes to imagine the lives of his customers by trying on their clothes.
“The audience are a bit unsure about what’s actually happening,” he said.
“People are quite surprised because they are little unsure what the experience will be like.”
Nigel said things aren’t exactly as they seem and the show will keep the audience not just laughing but guessing.
The Altona resident who also wrote the show said it tells a quirky, funny and engaging story through Krispin and his clothes.
“Clothes reveal more about people than people ever tell you,” he said.
“Through the washing baskets Krispin explains this and slowly a story unfolds.”
Nigel who started his acting career in the 1980s, studying at the University of Western Sydney, has been performing and writing for a number of years in Australia and the London.
Nigel said when writing this show, he thought Krispin would be the perfect character to play the owner of the laundromat.
The Full Load is running until 9 October.
