WYNDHAM’S older residents will have a place to call their own soon with the council taking the first step in creating the Penrose Promenade Community Hub in Tarneit Gardens.
The $545,500 contract for architectural design services for the hub was awarded to Terence Carey Architects at last week’s council meeting.
While the exact details have yet to be outlined, the centre will feature maternal and child health services, a kindergarten and offices for Wyndham City’s Aged and Disability Services Department.
Councillor Kim McAliney said the new centre would be an asset to Wyndham’s older residents.
