ONE of Wyndham’s biggest charity groups has announced two new faces that will take up positions on its Board of Directors.
John Wnek and Richard Morrison, both fathers of sons who have been supported by Mambourin, are the newest directors at the charity.
Mr Wnek has served on the Committee of Management with Interchange Western and has been treasurer for 12 years while Mr Morrison retired in February this year after working for 50 years with Telstra in the switching and IT technical area as a technical expert.
“Now that I have retired I am better placed to focus on supporting my local community,” Mr Morrison said.
“I am committed to ensuring that Mambourin continues empowering people with a range of skills and abilities. In particular Mambourin has over the years achieved some great outcomes with people with higher support needs and these successes should only increase under a National Disability Insurance Scheme.”
Vern Fettke, President of the Mambourin Board of Directors, said the combined experience of Mr Wnek and Mr Morrison would make them valuable members of the team.
“We have a very strong and capable Board, with a wide range of skills, abilities, knowledge and experience. These appointments complement this skill set wonderfully,” Mr Fettke said.
“It positions Mambourin to enjoy continued growth and success whilst at the same time ensuring that the all-important voice of people with disability is heard loud and clear directly into the Board room.”
