ADAM Murchie claimed the champion’s medallion at Footscray Cycling Club’s time trial championships on Saturday.
Hawthorn rider Shane Miller clocked the fastest time in A Grade.
The championships were held at Kirk’s Bridge, near the You Yangs in cold and blustery conditions that were less than ideal for time-trialling.
Murchie and Miller both completed the 39km in very impressive times given the strong winds.
Other standout performances on the day were Graeme Cole, who took B Grade’s medallion with a time of 31:34, the ageless Tommy Gray who took out C Grade with a respectable time of 31:15 that would have taken B Grade’s medallion, and veteran David Lane who took the D Grade medal with a time of 36:17.
