FOOTSCRAY’S Embona taskforce is calling for public assistance over a callous attack on a 77-year-old woman in Footscray.
At approximately 12.50pm on Wednesday of last week, the elderly Deer Park woman was standing on the western side of Leeds St waiting for a bus.
A man approached, deliberately tripped her over and stole her handbag before running off south along Leeds St.
The lady suffered shock and bruising to her hand as a result of being tripped over.
The offender is described as approximately 20 years old, Caucasian, about 183 cms tall, strong, solid build, clean shaven with a round face, short light brown hair and wearing a white t-shirt.
