STUDENTS at the Catholic Regional College’s St Albans campus are a close-knit group.
This is especially true for the school’s knitting group, who have been donating their creations to good causes over the past few years.
In their latest offering, members of the school’s knitting group donated knee-rugs to senior citizens living at a Keilor Downs nursing home last month.
Elderly residents at the Rosary Home were delighted when students from Year 9 and 10 presented them with the rugs.
“The knitting group at CRC St Albans has been running for a couple of years now,” said Angela Robinson, who works in the school’s library and accompanied the students to the nursing home.
“Previously we have knitted scarves as part of the Guardian Angel Knitting Program, which donated them to those in need,” she said.
“Last year we knitted squares that were sewn into rugs and donated to the St Vincent de Paul shop in St Albans.”
