Centre open for business

IT’S the centre that has grown as fast as the little ones it looks after.
The redeveloped Clare Court Children’s Service in Yarraville was officially unveiled last week, boasting 92 more long day care places, 20 more kindergarten places and double the capacity for maternal and child health services.
There is also an extension to the kindergarten, a new playgroup/multipurpose space and two consulting rooms for visiting outreach workers.
The Federal Government contributed $1.6 million to the upgrade, while Maribyrnong City Council ($1.4 million) and the Victorian Government ($500,000) also chipped in.
“All of these improvements will add further value to the existing Clare Court centre and make the centre a valuable hub for parents in the local Yarraville community,” Gellibrand MP Nicola Roxon said.
“This new centre will help children get a flying start to their education, with the aim that they will become happy, confident learners.”
The Clare Court Children’s Service is one of 11 Early Learning and Care Centres being funded in Victoria.
